An Enduring Partnership

The history of the Central Valley Joint Venture is marked by an impressive record of accomplishment. 2009 was another exceptional year. In 2009, CVJV partners protected, restored and enhanced over 85, 000 acres of wetland, riparian and associated upland habitat for migratory birds. As we move into our twenty second year of the CVJV partnership, we continue to be engaged in conservation issues central to our mission, conserving bird habitat and securing reliable water supplies for public and private wetlands in the Central Valley. We are collaborating closely with the Department of Interior's Landscape Conservation Cooperative Initiative, which should provide the Joint Venture with more science capability and a forum to collaborate with the non-avian community in strategic landscape conservation activities.
