Audubon California’s IBA Program is part of a worldwide effort, coordinated by BirdLife International, to identify and protect sites deemed most critical to birds.

NABCI
The North American Bird Conservation Initiative (NABCI) is a coalition of bird conservation organizations and initiatives striving to increase resources for regionally based, biologically driven, landscape-oriented partnerships and make them more effective by fostering integrated bird conservation, which is based on sound science, effective management, and the efficient use of resources.

RAMSAR
The Convention on Wetlands, signed in Ramsar, Iran, in 1971, is an intergovernmental treaty which provides the framework for national action and international cooperation for the conservation and wise use of wetlands and their resources.

Western Hemisphere Shorebird Reserve Network (WHSRN)
(WHSRN) is a voluntary, non-regulatory coalition that identifies and promotes conservation of crucial sites for shorebirds, no matter whether they are used in the breeding, migratory, or winter season.
